So much for my good intentions…

I was doing pretty good getting back to blogging for about a week there and then the flu struck! I’ve been pretty darn sick here. I’m still sick. It’s been 11 days of it and today I don’t feel nearly as good as I did yesterday (and that wasn’t all that great). I also have tonsillitis which may have become something else again in the last day or two. The worst part is that I can’t lay down to sleep because my throat has been so swollen, so I sleep, about 30 minutes at a time, in a chair…and no, we don’t own a recliner! I’m so miserable I wan’t to cry, while I’m sure that might be helpful emotionally, I’m pretty sure it will make me feel even worse!

Before all the yuck began, while I was still putting Christmas decorations away, my sister-in-law sent me something I didn’t even know I needed – a popover pan! I made a batch right away. I used this recipe, and wow, I love popovers and my new pan!

I’m keeping a busy as I can with webshop and IH&B work here, but if I close my eyes for a few seconds I sometimes nod off for a bit.

    1. Hi Linda! It has been miserable and the only thing for it now is rest, since I can only rest comfortably for about 2 hours at a time, it’s going slowly! My throat isn’t nearly as sore as it was 2 weeks ago thankfully! Thanks for the good wishes and hugs! :0)

  1. So sorry you are feeling so bad,Mary Kathryn. I wish you a speedy recovery. Years ago I suffered badly from tonsillitis so I know that misery well. Rest, drink liquids and put some good DVDs on the telly :-)

  2. Wow, awesome popovers! Thanks for sharing a link to the recipe, I will check that out.

So sorry that you are/were feeling under the weather. Hopefully, you are on the road to recovery. My biggest fear is getting the nasty flu. i had that a number of years ago and was sick for 10 days…dreadful.

    Get well soon.

  3. Poor you hope you feel better soon, it is all this lovely winter isn’t it – pretty as the snow is I can’t wait for nice sunny weather, I have been sneezing for weeks!

    1. Thanks Alison, I hope you feel better too. Winter can be very dry here and my throat is really feeling it, we are moving into our real snowy season so I am looking forward to more moisture! :0)
